Overview

As of last week, the Bulldogs boasted NAIA national rankings of 13th for women and 22nd for men (according to the USTFCCCA computer ratings). The current NAIA national leaderboard shows Concordia having combined for 12 marks that meet at least the NAIA B national qualifying standard. The NAIA auto standards have been produced by the women’s 4x400-meter relay, Nathan Baldwin in the discus, Abby Gerber in the shot put, Mayson Ostermeyer in the pole vault and Adrianna Rodencal in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles. The women’s 4x4 was the latest to record an automatic time as it clocked in at 3:47.33 at last week’s Drake Relays.

Eleven current Bulldogs have won previous GPAC event championships. Rodencal is now a three-time GPAC Athlete of the Year after earning such distinction again this past indoor season. Including her efforts in relays, Rodencal has claimed seven career GPAC championships while having starred for four conference championship teams. Returning defending GPAC outdoor champions from Concordia include the women’s 4x4, Matthew Boyer (javelin), Abby Gerber (shot put), Josi Noble (heptathlon) and Rodencal (100 hurdles). From a team perspective, the women won 11-straight GPAC titles before having the streak halted by done at the 2025 conference indoor meet. The most recent GPAC team championship for the men came at the 2015 conference outdoor meet.

The current GPAC performance lists show Concordia leading the conference in a total of seven events. Rodencal stands out with top times in the 200 meters, both hurdles events and as the anchor of the 4x4. In the men’s javelin, Boyer is favored at the top. The same is true for All-American pole vaulter Mayson Ostermeyer, who will aim for a sweep of 2025 GPAC indoor/outdoor men’s vault titles. In the women’s long jump, Kiki Nyanok owns the GPAC’s top mark this season. At the ’25 GPAC indoor meet, Carson Fehlhafer and Abby Gerber combined for a sweep of shot put championships. Additionally, Jonny Jurchen will aim for a second career GPAC title in the race walk.
