At last week’s conference championship meet in Hastings, junior Adrianna Rodencal stole the show while piling up 41 team points. Rodencal won GPAC titles in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles (GPAC records in both events) and in the 200 meters. She also placed third in the 100 meters and sixth in the long jump while helping the 4x100-meter relay break the school record with a runner-up finish. Rodencal’s GPAC records came in at 13.63 in the 100 hurdles and 58.90 in the 400 hurdles. The Lincoln Lutheran alum earned GPAC Outstanding Female Athlete of the Meet accolades for the fourth time in her career.

Other Bulldogs who claimed GPAC titles were Nathan Baldwin (discus), Emery Gutz (javelin), Jonny Jurchen (5,000-meter race walk), Mayson Ostermeyer (pole vault) and Abi Wohlgemuth (hammer). Jurchen set a GPAC outdoor meet record in the race walk and automatically qualified for the national championships. Meanwhile, Ostermeyer earned a clean sweep of 2025 GPAC indoor/outdoor pole vault titles. Baldwin, Gutz and Wohlgemuth became GPAC champions for the first time in their careers.

In the USTFCCCA NAIA national ratings released on Tuesday (May 6), Concordia landed at No. 8 on the women’s side and at No. 23 on the men’s side. Through the GPAC Championships, Bulldog athletes have combined for a total of 16 marks that meet at least the NAIA B national qualifying standard (as listed below). Athletes who rank inside the top 16 of their respective events at the conclusion of the season become automatic national qualifiers. The women vaulted into the top 10 nationally with the help of Rodencal, who boasts NAIA national rankings of second in the 400 hurdles, third in the 100 hurdles and second as part of the 4x4.
