From a national perspective, the most significant developments last week came courtesy of two women’s relays. Concordia’s 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays both clocked NAIA B standard national qualifying times. The 4x1 broke the school record by finishing in 47.14. The 4x1 was made up of Adysen McCarter, Kayla Kirchner, Emily Loseke and Adrianna Rodencal. In the 4x4, Rodencal and Kirchner were joined by Trinity Tuls and Isabelle Salters. With their efforts, the Bulldogs’ season tally of national qualifying marks now stands at five A standards and seven B standards (as shown below). Additionally, Josi Noble ranks No. 15 nationally in the women’s heptathlon.

The prestigious Drake Relays annually host top athletes from all levels of college competition. Assistant coaches Mark Samuels, Ed McLaughlin and Jason Berry will each have athletes from their event groups in competition in Des Moines, Iowa. The full Drake Relays schedule for Concordia can be found at bottom. Most of the action for the Bulldogs is scheduled to take place on Friday when five different relays will take to the blue oval at Drake Stadium. For some of those relays, this will be the first time being pushed in a largescale competition.

As the Drake Relays unfold, the bulk of Concordia’s roster will be at Woody Greeno Track (Abel Stadium) in Lincoln on Saturday for the Prairie Wolf Invite hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan. Inclement weather wiped out last year’s Prairie Wolf Invite. This year's meet was moved to Saturday in hopes of capitalizing on better weather conditions.

The Bulldogs continue to hold down top 25 NAIA national team ratings, according to the USTFCCCA. In the latest ratings released on Tuesday (April 22), Concordia landed at No. 13 on the women’s side and at No. 22 on the men’s side. From an event perspective, the Bulldogs rank within the top three nationally in the following events: women’s heptathlon (No. 1), men’s race walk (No. 1), men’s shot put (No. 1), women’s triple jump (No. 2), men’s hammer (No. 2), men’s 110 hurdles (No. 3), women’s 100 hurdles (No. 3), men’s javelin (No. 3) and women’s shot put (No. 3).

The 2025 GPAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships are coming up next week (May 2-3). The conference outdoor meet will take place at Hastings for the first time since 2016. The Bulldogs will be looking to improve upon their 2025 GPAC indoor placements of third on the women’s side and fourth on the men’s side.
