SEWARD, Neb. – Another standard setting performance by Allie Brooks landed her Hauff Mid-America Sports GPAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday (Feb. 5). The last time Brooks challenged such heights in the pole vault, she was named the NAIA National Field Athlete of the Week (Feb. 8, 2017). The Concordia University track and field programs have collected seven GPAC Athlete of the Week honors this indoor season.

A Seward High School product, Brooks now tops the NAIA in the pole vault with last week’s clearance of 13’ ¼,” which made her the first female vaulter in Bulldog history to eclipse 13 feet. Brooks reached that lofty height at the Concordia Classic while winning the competition. Brooks was a 2017 NAIA indoor All-American and a two-time GPAC pole vault champion.

Brooks also owns school records in the outdoor pole vault (12’ 9 ½”) and in the indoor high jump (5’ 7”). Her father Gene Brooks is the Concordia men’s indoor pole vault record holder (18’ ½”) and a five-time NAIA national champion.

The Bulldogs will be back in action later this week with the Fred Beile Invite (Friday) and the Sevigne Husker Invite (Feb. 7-8).
