Velders claims All-America accolade

2025 NAIA Men’s Tennis All-Americans

SEWARD, Neb. – Nick Velders continues to make his mark on the Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Tennis program, adding to his accomplishments by reaching NAIA All-American status, as announced by the league office on Friday (March 23). Velders was selected for the second team and became the second Bulldog in school history to be selected as a men’s tennis All-American. Matthew Micheel was the program's first to garner All-America status, earning distinction in 2000.

In his first season under Head Coach Lisa Hart, Velders has also claimed the Tri-GPAC Player of the Year award, breaking records for the program. The Apeldoorn, Gelderland, The Netherlands, native posted a 19-2 (5-1 GPAC) record in singles, setting a new singles season win record. The Prairie State College transfer earned a 13-7 doubles record playing at No. 1 with Hugo Fuentes.

Velders outscored his opponents 248-130 in singles games this season. He was recently ranked No. 55 in the NAIA ITA Men’s Singles final rankings as the Men’s team finished ranked 26th via ITA.
