Trio of Bulldogs from men's tennis honored with CSC Academic All-District awards

2025 CSC Academic All-District Tennis Teams

SEWARD, Neb. – A trio of Bulldogs from the Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Tennis program landed on the list of 2025 Academic All-District Team award winners, as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday (May 13). The honorees include Manuel Rodriguez, Nick Velders and Grady Works. Each of whom have earned Academic All-District distinction for the first time.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Student-athletes must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher in order to be nominated for this award. Nominees also had to meet specific requirements in terms of games played and games started during the 2024 season. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Major: Mathematics / Physics
Notes: First CSC Academic All-District award; three-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete; 2025 Honorable Mention All-GPAC in doubles.

Nick Velders | Jr. | Gelderland, The Netherlands
Major: Exercise Science
Notes: First CSC Academic All-District award; 2025 GPAC Player of the Year; school record holder for singles wins in a single season.

Grady Works | Sr. | Lincoln, Neb.
Major: Business Administration
Notes: First CSC Academic All-District award; 2025 NAIA Scholar-Athlete; 2025 GPAC All-Conference in singles and doubles.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk (in the CSC release) and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 4.
