SEWARD, Neb. – The 2021 Concordia University Men’s Tennis schedule has been announced as of Thursday (Oct. 22). The official start to the campaign will be on Feb. 13 as the Bulldogs host Bethel College (Kan.) at the Genesis Racquet Club in Lincoln, Neb. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.
The 2020 season will mark Head Coach David Desimone’s third season at Concordia. He guided the men’s program to a 10-10 record in 2019 and a conference postseason semifinals appearance. The Bulldogs had a 6-4 record last year before COVID canceled the remainder of the season. Concordia has plenty of experience as they return four All-GPAC performers, including the senior duo of Jeremiah Berryman and Luke Zoller and the junior duo of Isaac Howes and Jack Kitson.
Concordia will compete in 12 official regular-season matches (prior to the GPAC Championships). The slate consists of seven home matches and six GPAC matches. The home opener will take place on March 12, as the Bulldogs host Iowa Western Community College. The schedule includes Division II Emporia State on March 20. The match will be the first-ever between the Bulldogs and the Hornets.
The GPAC Championships will be hosted by Midland University in Fremont, Neb., on April 30 and March 1. The NAIA National Championships will take place May 18-22, at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.
