
SEWARD, Neb. – Coming off a split from the past week, the Bulldogs are set to take on Midland and Mount Marty in the coming days. Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Tennis will host the Warriors on Wednesday (April 8) and travel to Yankton, S.D., on Sunday. Head Coach Lisa Hart and company are 1-1 in GPAC play.

The Bulldogs are 13-4 overall this season and had the second-best start in program history with an 8-0 initial run. They have big wins over the University of Saint Mary (4-1), McPherson College (4-3), and Grand View University (7-0). Concordia has outscored its opponents 79-30 in points this season with a 69-26 record in singles and a 31-18 showing in paired matches.
Singles ITA rankings were last released on March 26, 2026, and the Bulldogs found two names in the top-75 players in the nation. Daniel Caballeros is rated No. 35 and Nick Velders is No. 37 in the rating system. Others rated in the GPAC are No. 15 Marcos Menendez (Morningside), No. 18 Alexis Diaz (Morningside), No. 24 Mathys Arnold (Morningside), No. 52 Philip Olsson (Midland) and No. 75 Mats Vervloet (Doane). The next rating is in two days on April 9.
Velders continues to be dialed in against seemingly every opponent, as the second-year transfer has won all 15 singles matches in consecutive sets. An Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, native, Velders has won 18 in a row going back to April 16, 2025. He has a blistering 34-2 record as a Bulldog. He has won four of his last five doubles matches with the majority paired with Ognjen Gajic.
Caballeros is on a four-match winning streak in singles having triumphed in five of his last six. The first year transfer has a 13-3 record and 13-1 against NAIA opponents. The Guatemalan and Leo Lopez are 4-1 having been recently paired. Lopez has a 12-2 singles record winning the first 11 of his collegiate career. He is 5-2 in doubles.
Upcoming Opponents
The Warriors are 5-10 overall and 2-0 to start conference play. Midland started its GPAC competitions with victories over Mount Marty (7-0) and Hastings (6-1). The Lancers are winless (0-9) on the season and have lost to Morningside (0-7), Midland (0-7) and Doane (0-7). Mount Marty will face Hastings on Friday before the Bulldogs on Sunday.
