NAIA Men’s Tennis Conference Rankings

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University Men’s Tennis team will begin the 2021 spring season ranked No. 3 in the GPAC preseason ratings. Rankings for all NAIA men’s tennis conferences were unveiled on Monday (Jan. 25) by the NAIA. The Bulldogs checked in behind Midland and Doane atop the GPAC rankings. Midland received votes in the NAIA national poll.

Third-year Head Coach David DeSimone’s men’s program finished 2020 with an overall mark of 6-4 before the season was shut down due to COVID-19. The campaign ended prior to the start of conference play. Back in 2019, Concordia placed fourth in the GPAC (3-3 conference record) and reached the semifinals of the GPAC tournament. The program returns several experienced competitors, including Jeremy Berryman, Joseph Bindl, Isaac Howes, Jack Kitson and Luke Zoller.

The 2020-21 season officially started back in the fall. The Bulldogs earned a 4-3 win over NCAA Division II William Jewell College (Mo.) and competed in two individual bracket style events – the GPAC Tournament and the ITA Central Regional Championships. The season is slated to resume on Feb. 20 with a match at Sterling College (Kan.).
