SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University, Nebraska Softball program most recently made an appearance in The Lone Star State in 2017. That will change on Thursday when the first pitch of the 2026 season is fired in Mesquite, Texas. Head Coach Brock Culler’s squad is slated to play twice each day Thursday through Saturday at the Southern Collegiate Sports NAIA Softball Invitational. The location will be the Mesquite Softball Complex (full address included below).

As announced on Monday by the GPAC, the Bulldogs have been pegged fifth in the league’s preseason coaches’ poll. Concordia placed fifth in the final 2025 GPAC standings after finishing with a 12-10 conference mark (27-20 overall). From last season’s roster, Concordia returns the following All-GPAC honorees: Taryn Ganstrom (second team), Kaylei Denison (honorable mention), Laycee Josoff (honorable mention), Aubriana Krieser (honorable mention), Grace Maguire (honorable mention) and Avery O’Boyle (honorable mention).

Next week
The Bulldogs are scheduled to play a pair of doubleheaders in the state of Kansas: Feb. 14 at University of Saint Mary and Feb. 15 at Benedictine College. If all goes as planned, Concordia will follow the Texas trip by playing 14 straight games in Kansas.
