SEWARD, Neb. – The Bulldogs couldn’t find their footing in the two games versus the high-octane offense of Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday (March 28). Concordia University, Nebraska struggled in the circle giving up 21 runs on 25 hits to fall in both games (6-3, 15-0) to the Tigers in Plum Creek Park. Aubriana Krieser was a bright spot connecting for three hits in the two outings.

Head Coach Brock Culler and company are 13-12 overall and 2-4 in the GPAC so far in 2026.

“In game one, I felt like we competed well,” Coach Culler said. “We have such a competitive group. We just can’t give the other team extra outs or extra bases. It always comes back to haunt us, especially against a team like Dakota Wesleyan. As good as they are offensively, they will make you pay for those. When we have a chance to get outs, we have to do a better job of that. We kinda gave away game one. Game two, everything they hit was hard and where we weren’t. It was just a really rough day.”

Tied at three apiece in the 6th inning of the opener, the Tigers strung together three hits to drive across three runs. Concordia couldn’t muster up a response as Taryn Ganstrom was the only one able to force a hit in the final two frames.

Ganstrom (2-for-3) and Krieser (2-for-3) paced the home squad in knocks in the initial contest with the first baseman adding a run. Zaugg would supply an RBI single and a walk.

Kaylei Denison kept Dakota Wesleyan’s powerful attack relatively quiet until the sixth. Denison allowed five earned runs on eight hits while sitting down five in the loss.

In game two, the Tigers’ Macy Moore (seven RBIs) crashed on the Bulldogs with a three-run homer and a grand slam in the 11-run third inning. DWU used 11 hits to pull away in the frame and the usual high-hit Concordia offense was virtually silenced from Mandalyn Nachtigall’s five scoreless visits to the circle.

Mary Beth Hart, Grace Zaugg, Krieser, and Bailey Merritt barreled the four total hits in the final contest. Following one of her best showing of the season, Kierstynn Linn couldn’t find a rhythm giving up seven hits and seven runs in 2.1 innings thrown.

The defense needed clean performances against the visitors, but had five total errors. Still, the majority of the opposing knocks were in the gaps.

Concordia (13-12, 2-4 GPAC) will look to regroup this Wednesday (April 1) against Hastings (11-14, 2-6 GPAC) in Seward. The Bulldogs will take the field at Plum Creek Park at 5 p.m. CT to start the doubleheader.
