SEWARD, Neb. – Michael Wyvill was selected as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week by the league office on Tuesday (Oct. 27). The defender helped the Bulldogs to a 3-0 shutout over Northwestern last week. Wyvill joins Sean Stratman (Sept. 29) and Florian Quast (Sept. 22) as Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Soccer players to win the award.

The senior centerback competed all 90 minutes in the clean sheet that spurred on the Dawgs to win the regular season title outright. Wyvill willed Concordia to only give up three shots on target (eight total) to the Red Raiders. He has been a part of a collective defense that has completed six shutouts on the season as the Seward side is a perfect 9-0 in conference.

The Lincoln Pius X alum has started 14 games, staying on the field a total of 1,175 minutes. He has two assists this season. Wyvill has played in 66 career games (55 starts), gracing the pitch just shy of 5,000 minutes (4,828). He has four career goals and two assists as a defender. Wyvill is a Business Administration major.

Concordia will take on Midland in the final match of the scheduled slate on Wednesday in Seward.
