The Bulldogs came out striking the ball early and often and dealt 22 shots at the first-time starter for the Lancers. An avalanche of scores would finally collapse, starting in the 63rd minute. Slade Leicht and Hugo Garrote came together to slide a through ball to the crafty Ricards Busmeisters notching his fourth goal of the season. Over the next eight minutes, the Bulldogs put this one to bed as freshmen Milo Hegarty (69’) and Conner Robbins (70’) got on the board with the first goals of their careers. Assists were credited to Leicht on goal No. 2 and to Garrote and Kai Olbrich on goal No. 3. The lopsided affair finally came to fruition as Mount Marty was only allowed six shots and Inigo Chavarria claimed his first clean sheet in 2025.
Down 2-0, Busmeisters helped the Bulldogs rally against the Mustangs with a penalty after Mike Wyvill was fouled inside the box. Needing one to equalize, Concordia gave up a third goal via a foul inside the 18-yard box and wasn’t able to find another score. Morningside ran away with the shot count late (19-9), with both squads only having three in the first half. With each keeper having five saves, Nolan Fuelberth would have eight shot attempts on goal thrown his way.
Tied for fourth in the GPAC for shots per game, the Bulldogs have continued to improve their offensive presence through their 11 games. With 13 goals and eight assists, the squad has tallied 34 points. Shooting 55 times in the last three games, the striking pace has moved up a notch with quality shots coming from many, including Kai Olbrich, Busmeisters, Hugo Garrote, Oliver Benson, Hegarty and Jasper Hofland. Olbrich (.667), Joe McCarroll (.571) and Benson (.545) are out front in shots on goal percentages.
For the 5th time in 10 years, the Dawgs and Broncos clashed in the conference playoff championship and the visitors came out on top (1-0) in Bulldog Stadium. The defenses were almost impenetrable as both teams only posted two shots on frame apiece. Hastings’ Lewis Albert found a score in the 25th minute, assisted by Juan Arteaga-Lopez. The two teams were even in almost every category with the Bulldogs taking a 6-5 slim shot advantage in the end. In the last meeting versus the Warriors, Concordia hit double-digit goals with seven different players changing the number on the board. Kai Olbrich, Aidan Nachi, Youssef Heggy all scored twice, with the rest of the goals coming from Ryan Wokutch, Martin Herrera, Ferdi Hagen, and Mattis Hollnagel.
In the third NAIA RPI ratings, the Bulldogs are set at 134th with a 0.457 RPI. Concordia has been rated at 128th in strength of schedule.
