SEWARD, Neb. – The historic 2025 Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Soccer team earned more recognition on Friday (Aug. 7). The United Soccer Coaches honored the Bulldogs as a College Team Academic Award winner for the 2025-26 academic year. In Weides’ final season as men’s soccer head coach, the team finished 2025-26 with a grade-point average of 3.24.

A total of 777 soccer teams (326 men, 451 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year. Of that total, 175 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.

Last fall, Weides guided the Bulldogs to a GPAC tournament championship and the program’s first ever advancement into the second round of the NAIA National Championships. Concordia concluded the ’25 season at 12-9-1 overall. Weides now serves as Director of Soccer Operations and Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Concordia. Bernie Ochoa has assumed the role of Head Men’s Soccer Coach.

Academically, the 2025-26 Bulldogs totaled eight NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards and three Academic All-District honors (College Sports Communicators).
