Bulldogs travel to Midland University to open GPAC Tournament play

The Concordia University men’s soccer team opens play in the 2011 Great Plains Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament on November 1.  Concordia is the six seed in the tournament and will travel to No. 3 seed Midland University for a 2 p.m. contest in the quarterfinal round.

Concordia tied with Doane and suffered a 2-1 loss at Northwestern on Saturday to finish the regular season with a 5-3-2 conference record.  Midland University was 6-4 in conference play during the regular season.  The two teams met in early October, and the Bulldogs picked up a 1-0 overtime win over the Warriors in a game played in Seward.

The Concordia/Midland winner will advance to take on the winner between No. 7 Briar Cliff and No. 2 Dakota Wesleyan in the semifinal round on November 5.  The GPAC Championship game is scheduled for November 10.  The top remaining seeds will host games throughout the course of the tournament.
