Bulldogs pull away for 2-0 win over Sterling College

Concordia University scored two goals within four minutes in the second half, and the Bulldogs secured a 2-0 men’s soccer win over Sterling College on Saturday afternoon in Seward.  The Bulldogs improved their record to 4-1-1 on the year, while Sterling remained winless at 0-6-1.

Tim Soenksen (Lincoln, Neb.) put the Bulldogs on top early in the second half.  Nathan Douglas (Winnipeg, Can.) had the assist.  Douglas then added a penalty kick goal less than four minutes later to give the Bulldogs the 2-0 advantage.

Sterling College totaled nine shots in the game, but Chris Podlich (Brisbane, Australia) and Brendan Buchanan (Broomfield, Colo.) combined to make four saves on the day.  Podlich picked up the win in goal for the Bulldogs.
