Bulldogs pick up first win of season, 4-1 over Bethany College

The Concordia University men’s soccer team earned a 4-1 win over Bethany College on Saturday evening in Seward.  The Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season to improve to 1-2-2 on the year.  

Bethany College struck first in the first half with a goal by Gildardo Navarro.  An own goal tied the game at 1-1, and the Bulldogs claimed a 2-1 lead late in the first half on a goal by Kolt O’Kelly.  Ian Euler had the assist on Concordia’s second goal. 

With just over 30 minutes remaining in the game, Tim Soenksen scored off an assist by Kurt O’Kelly to increase the Bulldog lead to 3-1.  Less than two minutes later, Concordia’s Todd May scored on a penalty kick to build the lead to three at 4-1. 

The Bulldogs host Northwestern College on September 18 to open GPAC play.
