
SEWARD, Neb. – Inigo Chavarria has done it again. The Jaca, Spain native was awarded the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday (Nov. 4). He helped the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week over Doane (3-2) and Hastings (1-0, OT) in the conference quarterfinals. Chavarria earns his second straight honor along with Nolan Fuelberth (Sept. 30).
Chavarria, a senior transfer, played all 183 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs this past week, pacing the surge into the GPAC semifinals. He made six saves over Doane and then collected four saves in the shutout of Hastings in the overtime win.
He stands as the GPAC leader in save percentage (.840) while ranking second in goals against average (0.84). The two-time conference player of the week has allowed eight goals in 10 games (852 minutes), acquiring four total clean sheets. Chavarria has 42 saves in the net.
Third-seeded Concordia will host seventh-seeded Briar Cliff in the GPAC semifinals at Bulldog Stadium on Friday (Nov. 7).
