Zikas picks up fourth career All-GPAC honor

SEWARD, Neb. – Senior Nolan Zikas has gone a perfect 4-for-4 in his career. On Tuesday (May 7), the conference tabbed Zikas with his fourth GPAC all-conference award. The native of La Vista, Neb., has been a staple of the Concordia University men’s golf program and has served as team captain of head coach Brett Muller’s squad.

Accolades have been numerous for Zikas, who was recently named the David Toms Overcoming Adversity Award winner, which earned him a trip to the Golf Channel studios in Orlando, Fla. During the 2018-19 campaign, Zikas broke the program record for lowest single season average (74.06) and concluded his collegiate run as the school record holder for career average (75.60). Zikas placed in a tie for 18th in the GPAC this season by carding a four-round total of 76-74-74-80–304. In previous seasons, Zikas turned in GPAC place finishes of ninth in 2015-16, 24th in 2016-17 and 16th in 2017-18. Zikas’ best performance of 2018-19 occurred in September when he won the Siouxland Invitational with a 36-hole total of 69-69–138 (program record for two-round score at a single event).

Zikas graduated with his degree in Recreation and Sport Studies. He hopes to continue to stay involved in the game of golf in his future career.
