Zikas named GPAC Co-Golfer of the Week

SEWARD, Neb. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Golfers of the Week Tuesday. Concordia’s Nolan Zikas was named the men’s Co-Golfer of the Week along with two other conference golfers.

Zikas was given the honor after tying for first at the GPAC Qualifier No. 3 on April 11. The La Vista native carded a career-best 74 at the Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln. After 54 holes in the GPAC Qualifiers, Zikas sits 13th individually with a score of 79-79-74—232. This is the first weekly GPAC honor for Zikas and the first for the men’s team this season.

Also tying for the weekly accolades were golfers from Midland and Morningside who tied Zikas’ 74 score at the third conference qualifier.

Zikas and the rest of the Bulldogs are competing today at the Briar Cliff Mini-Tour Stop. The course is Two Rivers in North Sioux City, S.D. which is the same course that the final GPAC Qualifier will be played on later in the season.
