DAY 1 RESULTS (36 holes)

SEWARD, Neb. – Hot and sunny conditions greeted the field of 75 golfers who competed on Tuesday (Sept. 6), which marked the first of two days at the Blue River Classic, co-hosted by the Concordia University Men’s Golf program and Doane. For the Bulldogs, Jacob Woodmancy shined the brightest in turning in two rounds below par on the home course, Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. The tournament features 54 holes with 36 of them now in the books.

Head Coach Bret Muller entered two teams into a field that includes 12 groupings. The Concordia ‘A’ team resides in sixth place on the Blue River leaderboard with a two-round score of 296-290 – 586. Meanwhile, the ‘B’ group is close behind in sixth place with a score of 304-294–598.

Woodmancy outperformed all other Bulldogs with his score of 68-71–139 (five-under-par). The Gretna, Neb., native stands in fourth place overall, three strokes behind tournament co-leaders Jason Kolbas and Cooper Hanson, both of Iowa Western Community College. Woodmancy’s 68 in round one represented a career low. Also inside the top 10 individually, Concordia’s Drew D’Ercole shot an even-par 74-70–144 on Tuesday. Below is a listing of all individual scores by Bulldogs through 36 holes of action.

From a team perspective, Concordia still has a realistic shot of finishing as high as second place. The teams above the Bulldogs currently are Iowa Western (276-279–555), Hastings (294-285–579), Doane (291-291–582) and Northwestern (291-292–583).
