
SEWARD, Neb. – The 10th annual Blue River Classic is up next for Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Golf. The program will co-host the tournament on Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 3-4) along with Doane. The format will be feature 54 holes (three rounds) over two days at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb., where 11 institutions will be represented. In addition to Concordia and Doane, the field will include GPAC programs in Briar Cliff, Dakota Wesleyan, Dordt, Midland and Mount Marty, in addition to York University and three junior colleges. The field of individual players numbers 88 strong.

Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad opened the 2025-26 season last week at the Mount Marty Invite in Yankton, S.D. Ten Bulldogs competed over the two-day event. The Concordia ‘A’ team placed 10th out of 14 groupings with a total of 318-311–629. The top three Bulldogs were all freshmen as Tyler Weismann (76-77–153; T-32nd) led the way and was followed by Calvin Zabloudil (78-78–156) and Logan Krabbenhoft (80-76–156). Concordia’s first grouping also included a pair of seniors in Jake Richmond (82-78–160) and Brock Rogers (82-78–160) and freshman Kamden Zomer (85-82–167).
At last year’s Blue River Classic, the top Bulldog group placed eighth (out of 16) while shooting 303-299-300–902 at Highlands. Jacob Dowd led the way for Concordia as he placed 27th and shot 79-72-72–223. Rogers (73-76-76–225) and Richmond (76-74-77–227) were also among the team’s top four at the ’24 Blue River Classic. Indian Hills Community College emerged as the team champion behind individual titlist Facundo Moraga.
After wrapping up the Blue River Classic, the Bulldogs will shift focus to the Siouxland Invite on Sept. 8-9. That event will be played in both Sioux Center, Iowa, and Orange City, Iowa. There are five total varsity tournaments on Concordia’s fall slate.
