SEWARD, Neb. – As a sign of the strong spring he has enjoyed, junior Jake Richmond has earned recognition from the GPAC for the second time in three weeks. On Wednesday (April 9), the league office tabbed Richmond the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Golfer of the Week. Richmond garnered the same award on March 26.

A native of Elkhorn, Neb., Richmond claimed the weekly award thanks to his efforts this past weekend at the Bethel Spring Invitational (April 5-6), which challenged the tournament field with cold and blustery conditions. Richmond battled through the elements and led Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Golf with a sixth-place finish (out of 65 competitors). Richmond shot 75-76–151 (+8) over the two rounds held at Hesston Golf Park (Hesston, Kan.) and Sand Creek Station (Newton, Kan.).

The Yutan High School product tops the Bulldogs with a 2024-25 season scoring average of 75.9. Richmond also placed third at the Doane Spring Invitational (March 17-18) when he shot even par (72-71–143). Richmond and the Bulldogs are scheduled to take on Doane in the Bulldog-Tiger Cup in Cairo, Neb., on Saturday.
