
SEWARD, Neb. – The best tournament placement of Jake Richmond’s career resulted in recognition on Wednesday (March 26). The junior from Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Golf was tabbed by the league office as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Golfer of the Week. Richmond is the program’s first GPAC weekly award winner since Drew D’Ercole in October 2023.
An Elkhorn, Neb., native and Yutan High School alum, Richmond outperformed all GPAC competition at the Doane Spring Invite held March 17-18. Over the two days, Richmond shot even par (72-71–143) and placed third out of 68 golfers in the Doane Invite field. He finished only two strokes out of first place while collecting seven birdies for the tournament. On the season, Richmond ranks second on the team with an 18-hole scoring average of 76.0 (15 rounds). Richmond has played 51 career rounds at Concordia with an average of 77.1.
Richmond and the Bulldogs will return to action on Thursday and Friday for the Briar Cliff Match Play Tournament at Green Valley Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa.
