SEWARD, Neb. – The Phoenix area will serve as the 2026 spring break destination for Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Golf. The Maverick Desert Classic hosted by NCAA Division II Minnesota State University will unfold on March 9-10 from Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz. The Bulldogs will be one of 10 institutions represented at the tournament, which will be heavy on NCAA D-II squads. The Desert Classic will be the first of four spring varsity events leading up to the GPAC Championships for Head Coach Brett Muller’s program.

During this past fall semester, Concordia played in five varsity tournaments. It wrapped up the fall by placing fourth at the Nebraska Intercollegiate. As a team, the Bulldogs have averaged a score of 314.4 over 13 rounds. The team’s top five individuals in terms of season scoring average are senior Jake Richmond (77.3), freshman Calvin Zabloudil (78.1), junior Jude Elgert (78.9) and freshmen Logan Krabbenhoft (79.1) and Tyler Weismann (79.1). Zabloudil finished the fall season strong while shooting 71-76–147 and placing ninth at the Nebraska Intercollegiate. The team’s best single round score in the fall was a 299 achieved in round three of the Siouxland Invite.
Muller’s golf programs have made annual trips to warmer locales during spring break (see list below). The men are returning to Goodyear, where they also appeared in 2024. The event in 2024 was similar in that it included mostly D2 teams. A year ago, the women’s team traveled to Litchfield Park, Ariz., another city located near Phoenix. In previous years, the Bulldogs have also ventured to Las Vegas, Texas, Florida and Alabama.
