ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Senior Jude Elgert shot three-under-par on Tuesday (Sept. 15) while climbing 36 spots on the individual leaderboard over the final two rounds of Siouxland Invite. His efforts helped pave the way for the Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Golf team to card a season low total in round three of the tournament. The Bulldog ‘A’ team landed in 13th place at the conclusion of the tournament, which featured 90 golfers.
Head Coach Brett Muller’s program was represented by 10 competitors at the Siouxland Invite, staged at The Ridge Golf Club in Sioux Center, Iowa, for Monday’s round one and then at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa, for Tuesday’s second and third rounds. Concordia wrapped up with scores of 330-301-289–920 from the A team and 320-305-299–924 from the B team. Conditions were cool but favorable.
The three-under-par 68 Elgert shot in round three of the Siouxland Invite marked his best 18-hole score as a Bulldog. Elgert (Yutan, Neb.) leapt into a tie for 37th on the final leaderboard with his 54-hole total of 85-71-68–224. Elgert finished strong with six birdies over his final 18 holes. Prior to this week, Elgert’s lowest score since transferring to Concordia was a 73 last September.
On day two, sophomore Calvin Zabloudil also tightened up his game and finished tied for 40th overall (80-75-71–226). The Omaha native has posted three rounds of par or better already this fall. Elgert and Zabloudil were joined on the team’s first grouping by sophomore Tyler Weismann (86-77-72–235; T-67th), senior Jacob Dowd (86-78-78–242; T-78th) and sophomore Kamden Zomer (79-86-81–246; 84th).
The Bulldogs’ top two performances in Monday’s round came from the B team as freshman Wyatt Groves and junior Landon Weinandt both shot 78. Overall, the Norfolk, Neb., native Weinandt achieved Concordia’s third lowest score with a three-round 78-75-76–229 (T-51st). Groves finished one stroke behind at 78-76-76–230 (55th) while sophomore Logan Krabbenhoft (81-78-72–231; T-56th) came on strong in round three.
All teams present at the Siouxland Invite were GPAC members, with the exception of NCAA Division III Buena Vista University (Iowa). The top five in the final team standings were Hastings (848), Northwestern (851), Morningside (860), Dordt (873) and Doane (876).

The next varsity event on the schedule is the Bent Tree Intercollegiate hosted by Iowa Western Community College on Monday-Tuesday (Sept. 21-22) of next week. The location will be Bent Tree Golf Club in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
