2022-23 GPAC Men’s Golf All-Conference Teams

SEWARD, Neb. – For their performances throughout the 2022-23 season, Concordia University Men’s Golf standouts Drew D’Ercole and Ivan Yabut have been named to the GPAC Men’s Golf All-Conference teams, as announced on Thursday (May 11). In a new procedure for determining all-conference teams, GPAC coaches voted on the top players while taking into account the entire season of results. The top 10 vote getters were considered first team and the next five were named to the second team. Both D’Ercole and Yabut landed on the first team.

D’Ercole and Yabut were the headliners for Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad, which placed fifth in the GPAC and broke the school record for lowest scoring average (300.3) in a single season. One of the highlights of the season from a team perspective was the runner-up placement at the Doane Spring Invite.

A Papillion, Neb., native, D’Ercole has been a steadying force at the top of the lineup throughout his four-year Concordia career. During the 2022-23 season, D’Ercole carded a team low average score of 74.2 over 21 rounds and placed in a tie for 16th in the GPAC. His top performances of the year included a fourth-place finish at the Midwest Spring National Invite and a fifth-place claim at the Nebraska Intercollegiate. He was named the GPAC Golfer of the Week on April 19. Over the course of his career, D’Ercole has recorded seven top-10 tournament placements and four top-five tournament finishes. D’Ercole won an individual championship at the 2021 Doane Spring Invite. He owns a career scoring average of 76.3 in 67 rounds. An NAIA Scholar-Athlete, D’Ercole was twice named Honorable Mention All-GPAC before being chosen to the first team in 2023.

Yabut wrapped up his Concordia career this spring. Like D’Ercole, Yabut ranks among the top individuals in program history. The Omaha Burke High School alum shot an average of 75.4 in 2022-23 and placed in a tie for 20th in the GPAC. Yabut turned in two top-10 tournament finishes this season: sixth at the Doane Spring Invite and 10th at the Siouxland Invitational. Major moments in Yabut’s career included a school record single-round total of seven-under-par 65 at the 2021 Siouxland Invite and the program’s best ever individual GPAC finish of fifth in the spring of 2022. For his career, Yabut recorded seven top-10 tournament placements and five top-five tournament finishes. He’s now a back-to-back All-GPAC honoree with a career scoring average of 76.6.
