Bulldogs shoot 323 on first day of action in Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – It’s back to action for Concordia University Men’s Golf, which arrived in Las Vegas over the weekend and then began the two-day Winona State Warrior Invitational on Monday (March 7). In the first round of the event, the Bulldogs carded a team score of 323 (+35) while navigating the Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Vegas. Concordia is one of 16 teams in the field that includes 107 individual golfers. The tournament is heavy on NCAA Division II squads.

Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad competed in five events for a total of 10 rounds back in the fall. The spring season began on Monday for the seven Bulldogs who made the journey to Sin City.

Individually, Drew D’Ercole turned in the team’s low round with a six-over-par 78. Below are the Concordia results from the first round.

As of the close of the fall season, Concordia stands in sixth place in the GPAC standings with a two-round conference total of 298-308–606. Individually, Yabut led the way for the Bulldogs in the fall portion of the conference tournament and is currently in sixth place (71-74–145). Next in line from a conference perspective was Justin Webert in a tie for 29th (81-72–153).

Round two will tee off at 7 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. CT from Stallion Mountain. The top five teams heading into day two are Washburn (304), McKendree (306), Westminster (307), Northeastern State (307), Winona State (308) and South Dakota School of Mines (308).
