
Victory Sports Network NAIA 99
SEWARD, Neb. – A pair of senior defensive players from the Concordia University, Nebraska Football program earned recognition from Victory Sports Network on Monday (Aug. 11). The organization selected defensive lineman Carson Fehlhafer and safety Daylon Henson to its “NAIA 99,” a preseason watch list highlighting the top players from around the NAIA. As stated by VSN, “the list represents the elite players to watch, selected from submissions by NAIA coaching staffs and sports information departments.”
A native of Utica, Neb., Fehlhafer enjoyed a dominant junior season at nose guard. He was tabbed First Team All-GPAC and was selected to the Omaha World-Herald All-Midlands Team. Following a three-sack outing in the win at No. 2 Northwestern last season, Fehlhafer was honored as the NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week. He finished last season with 39 tackles, six tackles for loss, six sacks, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal. In his Concordia career, Fehlhafer has amassed 85 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
A breakout performer in 2024, Henson emerged from his junior season as an NAIA First Team All-American (Associated Press) and a First Team All-GPAC selection. The Pearland, Texas, native was also named Honorary Captain of the Omaha World Herald’s 2024 All-Midlands Team. Last season, Henson compiled 55 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, six interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. In the team’s win at Briar Cliff, Henson returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown.
Head Coach Patrick Daberkow’s squad reported to campus on Aug. 5 and is in the midst of preseason training. The season will officially kick off on Saturday, Sept. 6 when Doane visits Bulldog Stadium for a 7 p.m. CT rivalry clash.
