How did you get into esports?

I've been playing video games since my older brother introduced me to them at a young age.  I started playing Rocket League after one of my best friends from home, Ray Decker, and I watched PewDiePie play it with some friends.  Ray kept playing from 2016 until now.  I got bored of the game in 2017 and stopped playing until 2019.  He helped me get back into it.  At the time we were both pretty bad, but now we are both a lot higher ranked.

What's your favorite game and why?
My favorite game is called ABZU.  It's hard to explain, but it's the most graphically beautiful game I've ever played.  Bright colors, aquatic creatures, ocean waves and out of this world lighting effects make it so fun.  It's about ocean reconstruction and restoration and how technology can be dangerous.  This description doesn't do it justice, if you see me on campus, ask me about ABZU.

Why did you choose Concordia?
I wanted to attend a college where I could grow in a Christian community.  My love of theater, forensics and choir made this school an obvious choice.  In the end I was trying to decide between here and a college in Florida.  I'm very happy I ended up here.  I've made some of the best friends I've ever had in my life and grown through all of my relationships here.  I've grown as a student, a friend, and as a Christian.  Now I hope to grow as a gamer.

What are your eSports goals?
My two main goals are to have fun and to improve.  Because we are a new team and still developing, right now we are just trying to establish the community surrounding eSports.  There are some cool campus things that I'd like to work on to get more people into it.  Some virtual, some physical, I just think that we have some great opportunities right now, especially since Covid has changed our lives to spend more time inside.  I really just want to grow the community.  Even if you're not a 'gamer' there are always ways to get involved or just plain have fun.
