2024 Concordia Competitive Dance Schedule

SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia University Competitive Dance hopes to build upon a record-breaking 2023 season as it looks ahead to the 2024 competition season. Head Coach Mandi Maser’s program has announced a 2024 slate that features six regular season competition dates leading into the GPAC Championships in March (as of the release on June 12). The new campaign will officially get started with a home dual versus Hastings on Jan. 20, 2024.

Maser will be entering her eighth season leading both the Bulldog Cheer and Dance programs. The Concordia Dance program placed sixth at the 2023 GPAC Championships/NAIA Qualifier while breaking school records for highest single competition scores. Concordia finished ranked 13th nationally with program record average score (81.97) and narrowly missed out on a bid to the national championships. As a freshman, Ryleigh Flesner made history by becoming the program’s first-ever All-American. She was joined with all-conference honors by teammates Katie Birtell, Taylor Larsen and Avery Lewis.

Following the season opener versus Hastings, the 2024 schedule will continue with the Concordia Invitational Tournament (Jan. 27), the York Dance & Cheer Invitational (Feb. 9), the Concordia Dance & Cheer Duals (Feb. 10), a GPAC dual at Northwestern (Feb. 16) and the Dordt Cheer & Dance Invitational (Feb. 17). This will mark the second year in a row that York University and Concordia have partnered to host a large-scale event on back-to-back days. This past season’s Concordia Duals featured 15 cheer and 15 dance teams. The Bulldogs also make a return to the Dordt Invite, which included six cheer and eight dance squads last season.

CIT will include cheer and dance competitions for the fifth time in the history of the event. This coming year’s CIT will be hosted by Concordia University Wisconsin. The defending CIT champions are CUNE in dance and CU-Ann Arbor in cheer. Bulldog Dance captured the first CIT title in program history while winning the trophy at home in 2023.

As of this posting, the GPAC had not yet announced the location for the 2024 GPAC Cheer & Dance Championships/NAIA Regional Qualifier. The event is slated to take place on March 8 for dance and on March 9 for cheer. For those that qualify, the season will continue with the NAIA Competitive Cheer & Dance Championship March 29-30, hosted by Concordia University Ann Arbor in Ypsilanti, Mich.
