Four Bulldogs recognized on All-GPAC dance team

2023 GPAC Dance All-Conference Team

SEWARD, Neb. – Courtesy of their performances at the 2023 GPAC Championships / NAIA Northwest Group Qualifier, four members of the Concordia University Competitive Dance team have been named 2023 GPAC All-Conference award winners. The Bulldog honorees include senior Katie Birtell, freshmen Ryleigh Flesner and Taylor Larsen and sophomore Avery Lewis (honorable mention). The GPAC announced a 22-athlete all-conference team, as well as honorable mention selections, on Monday (Feb. 27).

Head Coach Mandi Maser’s competitive dance team placed sixth at the GPAC Championships/NAIA Qualifier with a total score of 81.31. Concordia was left out of the national qualifying field, but it improved significantly from the 2022 season. The Bulldogs rank 12th nationally in scoring average (81.97).

Birtell had previously been named an honorable mention all-conference award winner in 2020 and 2022. Concordia’s other honorees have been named all-conference recipients for the first time in their careers. All-GPAC awards were handed out based on performances during individual auditions held during the championship weekend in Crete. Neb.
