Daneen Kovar Theye takes over as Dance/Cheer coach

Daneen Kovar Theye has been introduced as the new Competitive Dance and Cheer coach at Concordia University, Nebraska.  She will also serve as Concordia’s Athletics Business Coordinator.

“I’m very excited to be coaching at Concordia University this year,” noted Kovar Theye.  “I’m especially looking forward to working with a talented group of dancers and cheerleaders.”

Daneen began her collegiate career at Stephens College from 1995-96.  She finished college at the University of Nebraska from 1996-99.  Daneen received the Anne and William Porter Award for creativity in dance, and she also earned the Academic Honors Award during her time at UNL.

She has also gained experience working with the Orange Grove Dancers in Tennessee.  During her free time, Daneen enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.  Daneen and her husband, Shaun, reside in Seward.

“I’m hopeful that we can boost school spirit on campus and in the Seward community this year,” remarked Kovar Theye.

This past year, the Bulldog dance team finished second at the NCA/NDA NAIA Invitational in Florida.
