Concordia dance team finishes second at NCA/NDA NAIA Invitational

The Concordia University dance team finished second at the 2011 NCA/NDA NAIA Invitational today in Florida.

Concordia also finished second in Thursday’s semifinals.  Head coach Jessica Shobe talked about the effort of her team.  “The girls had so much fun with the routine, and I think the judges noticed that,” said Shobe.  “We changed a few things from yesterday, and it paid off today.”

The Bulldogs competed against Baker University, Benedictine College and Calumet College of St. Joseph in today’s finals.  Calumet College of St. Joseph finished fourth in their first year at Nationals.  Benedictine College finished in third place, and Baker University won the championship.

“Baker University has a larger squad, and they’ve been around for awhile,” remarked Shobe.  “Finishing in front of Benedictine College is exciting, because they’ve been here before.  The girls put in so much work to get to this point, and finishing second is really a blessing.”
