At the Briar Cliff Invite (Oct. 3) held at Freedom Park in South Sioux City, Neb., the Bulldogs emerged with place finishes of third out of eight teams on the men’s side and third out of nine teams on the women’s side. Starting with the men’s 8K, Concordia’s top performers included junior Vaughn Hendrickson (26:19.5; 7th) and seniors Trey Robertson (26:32.4; 9th) and Aidan Limback (26:39.2; 11th). The first three Bulldog finishers in the women’s 6K were freshmen Hope Beck (23:32.8; 6th), Rachel Prince (24:09.7; 13th) and Amanda Smith (24:17.9; 16th). Both Concordia teams managed to defeat all NAIA/GPAC competition present at the meet, including the likes of Briar Cliff, Dakota Wesleyan, Hastings, Morningside and Waldorf.

Prior to the Briar Cliff Invite, Beisel’s teams made two trips to Sioux Falls, S.D., competing in the Augustana Twilight (Sept. 4) and the Augustana Invite (Sept. 25). Concordia posted team place finishes of sixth out of 33 on the men’s side and 10th out of 28 on the women’s side at the Augustana Twilight and 11th out of 19 teams on the men’s side and 10th out of 20 teams on the men’s side at the Augustana Invite. The men’s team has been led by three different runners over the first three meets: Robertson (Augie Twilight), Limback (Augie Invite) and Hendrickson (Briar Cliff Invite). Meanwhile, Beck has starred as the women’s frontrunner for all three meets. On Wednesday (Oct. 7), Beck and Hendrickson were honored as GPAC Runners of the Week.

Dordt’s Holiday Inn Express Classic is split into gold and black divisions, based on skill levels. The top runners will compete in the gold division. Teams can enter 10 runners into the gold division races.

Upon the conclusion of the Holiday Inn Express Classic, the Bulldogs will be idle the weekend of Oct. 17. Concordia will finish the regular season at the Blazing Tiger Classic on Oct. 24. In November, the GPAC Championships (Nov. 7) and NAIA National Championships (Nov. 20) will be held.
