SEWARD, Neb. – The cancellation of last week’s scheduled Greeno-Dirksen Invite means Concordia University, Nebraska Cross Country has been idle since the season opening Augustana Twilight held on Sept. 4. Head Coach Matt Beisel’s squads are headed back to Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, S.D., for this Friday’s Augustana Invitational. The Bulldogs will go up against strong competition on the home trail of NCAA Division II Augustana. Among the opposition will be GPAC rival Dordt, currently ranked No. 3 in the NAIA on the women’s side.

Yankton Trail Park is known as a fast course. At the Augustana Twilight early in the month, Concordia came away with place finishes of sixth out of 33 on the men’s side and 10th out of 28 on the women’s side. Both Bulldog squads placed second among GPAC/NAIA competition (behind only Doane). Due to intense heat on that particular day, the races were pushed back late into the evening and were 5 kilometers in distance. The top three individuals for Concordia were seniors Trey Robertson (15:42.1) and Aidan Limback (15:47.7) and junior Vaughn Hendrickson (15:54.4) on the men’s side and freshman Hope Beck (18:42.3), sophomore Ashley Robertson (19:27.8) and freshman Annaka Schlachter (20:15.0) on the women’s side.
Due to the restructuring of the schedule, the Bulldogs are now slated to be in action each of the next three weekends. Following the Augie Invite, Concordia will take part in the Briar Cliff Invite (Oct. 3), the Dordt Holiday Inn Express Classic (Oct. 10) and the Blazing Tiger Classic (Oct. 24). The 2026 GPAC Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Dordt on Nov. 7.
