Overview

As part of the dual format, Concordia will be matched up against Columbia College (Mo.) and William Woods University (Mo.) in cheer and will take on William Penn University (Iowa) and Benedictine College (Kan.) for dance. Entering the week, Head Coaches Mandi Maser and Emilie Ashenbach have put their teams to the test in two competitions. In cheer, the Bulldogs scored an 83.30 in a home dual with Hastings and placed second at the Concordia Invitational Tournament. In dance, Concordia scored an 82.0 in a triangular with Hastings and College of Saint Mary and then placed third at CIT.

On the current national leaderboards, the Bulldogs rank seventh in dance (82.0) and 10th in cheer (83.30). The CIT competitions did not count towards the official NAIA scoring system due to the use of a different scoring rubric. As a comparison, Concordia’s average scores in 2023 were 81.97 for dance and 77.80 for cheer.

The field of teams at the Concordia Day of Duals will be made up exclusively of NAIA institutions. The GPAC squads that will be present are College of Saint Mary (dance only), Dordt, Hastings (dance only), Midland, Morningside and Northwestern. While the event features a series of duals, the team with the highest scoring average for both cheer and dance will be rewarded during the closing ceremony.
