SEWARD, Neb. – On Wednesday night, the Concordia cheer team held its first competition. The Bulldogs welcomed Hastings College cheer team to Walz Arena. The Broncos topped the Bulldogs, 81.45-75.7 in the contest.

The cheer squad is coached by first year head coach Heather Duff and assistant coach Alison Schuerman.

Duff said, “I thought the team really brought it tonight. They were very close competitors with Hastings. We just need to keep working to improve our technique. We had high expectations for the teams, and I thought we met those. From here on out, it’s just about pushing those expectations even further. I’m really proud of them.”

The cheer team will compete next at the GPAC Dance and Cheer Invitational. The competition will be on Feb. 13 in Hastings, Neb.
