Schedule announced for 2014-15 men’s basketball season

SEWARD, Neb. – Head coach Ben Limback’s second season at the helm of Bulldog men’s basketball is set to tip off on Halloween night when it takes on Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kan. The program has announced the complete 30-game regular-season schedule for the 2014-15 season. Concordia will play host 13 times, including twice at the annual Cattle Classic Nov. 7-8. The opening contest is a rematch of last year’s 75-72 Bulldog victory in Salina. Concordia remains in The Sunflower State the next day for an evening tip off with Bethel College. Six days later Limback’s crew will host for the first time when the Cattle Classic gets underway.

Among the highlights of the 2014-15 schedule is the pre-New Year’s trip to West Palm Beach, Fla., Dec. 29-30. That’s when the Bulldogs will go up against Concordia University Canada and Northwood University (Fla.), coached by Rollie Massimino.

Robby Thomas and company will attempt to defend their 2014 Concordia Invitational Tournament title when the event plays out Jan. 30-31 in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Bulldogs draw Concordia-Chicago on the tournament’s first day.

The conference schedule gets started on Nov. 12 with a road trip to Mount Marty. The GPAC home opener takes place Nov. 15 when Morningside visits Walz Arena.

Concordia’s seven nonconference opponents posted a combined record of 72-119 in 2013-14. Northwood heads the list after a 26-7 campaign that included a berth in the NAIA Division II national tournament.
