Kissinger named GPAC Player of the Week for third time this season

SEWARD, Neb. – As a result of his breakthrough campaign, junior Brooks Kissinger has earned three GPAC Player of the Week awards already this season. On Tuesday (Dec. 9), the Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Basketball standout was tabbed GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player of the Week. The season ledger for Kissinger includes two conference offensive weekly awards and one defensive honor.

A native of Ashland, Neb., Kissinger earned the latest honor due to his performances in the 24th-ranked Bulldogs’ home wins last week over Doane, 90-59, and Dakota Wesleyan, 103-71. In the matchup with Doane, Kissinger posted 24 points, five assists and four rebounds while making 9-of-13 shots from the floor. In the victory over DWU, Kissinger totaled 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and one steal and went 8-for-13 from the floor. The Ashland-Greenwood High School alum has hit the 20-point mark in each of the past five outings.

On the season, Kissinger is averaging 19.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He is shooting 62.7 percent from the floor. His career point total stands at 540 points in 74 career collegiate games.

Concordia (8-2, 5-0 GPAC) will carry a seven-game winning streak into Wednesday’s contest at Midland. Game time from Fremont, Neb., is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. CT.
