Huebner and Byrd named to NABC Honors Court

The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced the NABC Honors Court on Monday.  The Honors Court recognizes those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2010-11 season.  Concordia’s Sam Huebner (Aurora, Colo.) and Tyler Byrd (Bennington, Neb.) were recognized.

Huebner and Byrd enjoyed solid seasons on and off the court in 2010-11.  Both earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.  Sam and Tyler were named to the Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska teams and were All-Conference performers.  Byrd also earned honorable mention All-American honors in his junior season.

The NABC was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, legendary coach at the University of Kansas.
