SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Basketball did not receive an at-large bid to the national tournament. The Bulldogs learned on Thursday (March 5) that their 2025-26 season had concluded when the official 64-team NAIA National Championship bracket was unveiled. Head Coach Ben Limback’s squad went unselected despite solid metrics, including an RPI of 61(SOS of 51) and eight quad 1 or 2 victories. Concordia ended its season at 19-12 overall and as the GPAC tournament runner up.
Throughout 2025-26, Concordia showed an ability to knock off the best teams on its schedule. The Bulldogs earned road wins over the GPAC regular season champion (Morningside) and GPAC tournament champion (Northwestern). Concordia won both regular season matchups over the Red Raiders. Limback’s crew also defeated nonconference national tournament qualifying teams in Governors State University (Ill.), Oklahoma City University and University of St. Francis (Ill.). In the postseason, the Bulldogs earned wins over Dordt and No. 21 Morningside while reaching the GPAC tournament final.
Named a First Team All-GPAC award winner on Wednesday, Brooks Kissinger enjoyed a breakout junior campaign that saw him average 22.1 points per game. Kissinger became the 39th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Additional All-GPAC honors went to Dane Jacobsen (second team), Zac Kulus (honorable mention) and Jaxon Stueve (honorable mention). A high school teammate of Kissinger, Jacobsen thrived in the point guard role and averaged 13.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 46.4 (51-for-110) from 3-point range.
Kulus was one of five seniors honored on senior day. The others were MJ Coffey, Tyler Harre and Logan Wilson. The seniors helped the program reach three national tournaments and were part of the 2023-24 team that shared the GPAC regular season title. Over four seasons, Kulus totaled 707 career points while making 170 3-point field goals in 114 games.
Limback (251-153 in 13 seasons at CUNE) and his staff will return a strong nucleus for 2026-27 with Kissinger and Jacobsen leading the backcourt. A strong class of seniors-to-be will feature not only Kissinger, but also Stueve, Hayden Frank and Tate Odvody, among others. Limback’s teams have averaged 22.3 wins per season over the past seven years as one of the GPAC’s top programs during that stretch.
