2026-27 NAIA Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

SEWARD, Neb. – Chosen as the conference preseason favorite, Concordia University, Nebraska Men’s Basketball will begin 2026-27 with a national ranking next to its name. In the NAIA Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released on Wednesday (Oct. 21), the Bulldogs checked in at No. 19. Concordia has cracked the top 25 (in at least one poll) for the sixth straight season.

Head Coach Ben Limback enters his 14th season leading his alma mater. The Bulldogs finished the 2025-26 season at 19-12 overall (11-9 GPAC) while narrowly missing out on a national tournament bid. Concordia reached the GPAC Championship Game, marking the program’s fourth appearance in the conference tournament final over the past seven years. Under Limback, the Bulldogs finished the 2021-22, 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons with NAIA top 25 rankings. The ’24-25 squad reached as high as No. 9 in the official coaches’ poll. The ’21-22 advanced to the national quarterfinals.

Concordia will roll out a veteran backcourt led by the GPAC’s leading returning scorer, Brooks Kissinger (22.1 ppg), a 2025-26 First Team All-GPAC honoree. Other returning all-conference players include Dane Jacobsen (second team) and Jaxon Stueve (HM). Jacobsen averaged 13.3 points while shooting 46.4 percent from 3-point range last season.

Three GPAC teams received votes in the NAIA preseason poll. The 19th-ranked Bulldogs were followed by No. 25 Morningside and Northwestern (receiving votes). The Mustangs and Red Raiders represented the conference at last season’s national tournament.

The 2026-27 season will officially tipoff with a road game at Kansas Wesleyan University on Oct. 29. The Bulldogs will make their first home appearance on Nov. 6-7 while hosting the 27th annual Cattle Classic.
