GAME NOTES: Concordia set to face Doane

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia men’s basketball team will face Doane College in the confines of Walz Arena on Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs will then take off for CIT in Chicago for games this weekend.

Last time out
The Concordia’s men team snapped a three game losing streak after defeating Mount Marty College on Saturday, 87-48 in Yankton, S.D. The Bulldogs were defeated by Hastings College last Wednesday, 84-77 in Walz Arena.

Scouting the Doane College Tigers
The Tigers of Doane College hold an 8-14 overall record and a 4-9 mark in the GPAC. Earlier this season, the Bulldogs defeated the Tigers, 84-81, in Crete. In recent conference action, Doane dropped an 86-74 game to Dordt College. As a team, Doane averages 78.5 points and 36.4 rebounds per game. From the field, the Tigers shoot 44.4 percent and 36.6 percent from behind the arc. Mykeil Tzul averages 16.5 points per game, which leads the squad. The Tigers are led by head coach Jim Weeks who is in his fourth season at Doane. Weeks is assisted by Ian McKeithen, Jackson Weeks and Travis Petrie.

Up next for the Bulldogs
The Concordia men’s basketball team be on the road next week for both contests. Next Wednesday, the Bulldogs will travel to Nebraska Wesleyan University for an 8 p.m. start time. Then on Saturday, Morningside will be Concordia’s opponent. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m. from Sioux City, Iowa.
