GAME NOTES: Bulldogs travel to take on the Tigers

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia men’s basketball team has one contest this week. The Bulldogs will face the Doane Tigers on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Start time is slated for 8 p.m. in Crete, Neb.

Last time out
The Concordia men’s basketball team split a pair of GPAC contests last week. On Wednesday, Nov. 18 the ‘Dogs traveled to Hastings College and suffered their first loss of the season. The Broncos outscored the Bulldogs, 87-80. On Saturday, Nov. 21, Concordia came back with a victory, defeating Morningside 110-99 in an overtime tilt.

As a team in the GPAC, the Bulldogs lead in scoring defense per game (74.83), blocks per game (5.67) and in total blocks (34), are tied for first in rebounds per game (41.67), rank second in scoring margin (13.61) and field goal percentage defense (.403), rank third in offensive field goal percentage (.485), total rebound margin (7.29) and steals per game (7.67), rank fourth in defensive rebounds per game (30.5), assists per game (17.83), total steals (46) and 3-point field goals made per game (9.17) and rank fifth in scoring offense per game (88.5) and offensive rebounds per game (1.17). Scouting the Doane College Tigers
The Tigers of Doane College own a 3-6, 1-1 GPAC record so far this season. In conference play, the Tigers defeated Mount Marty College 86-71 while falling to No. 19 Midland University 90-103. As a team, Doane averages 79.8 points and 35.3 rebounds a game. The team shoots .445 from the field and .339 from behind the arc. In the GPAC, Doane ranks second in scoring offense (718). Mykeil Tzul leads the Tigers in scoring, averaging 17.7 points a game. Tzul also grabs 3.6 rebounds per contest which is second-best on the team. The Tigers are led by head coach Jim Weeks who is in his fourth season at Doane. Weeks is assisted Ian McKeithen, Jackson Weeks and Travis Petrie.

The Concordia men’s basketball team will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 2 as they welcome Nebraska Wesleyan University to Walz Arena. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
