Concordia to take on Bethel College and Friends University in Holiday Tournament

Concordia University will travel to Kansas to take part in the Bethel College Holiday Classic Tournament from December 31-January 1.  The Bulldogs will battle Bethel College on Friday and Friends University on Saturday. 

Concordia takes an 8-3 record into the tournament.  The Bulldogs will face Bethel College at 3 pm on Friday.  The Threshers are 2-10 on the year.  Earlier this season, Concordia defeated Bethel by the score of 71-66 in the Cattle Classic Tournament.  Sam Huebner (Aurora, Colo.) scored a team-high 17 points and added four assists in the Bulldog win.  Ryan Shrum (Allen, Texas) added 16 points and six boards, while Porter Birtell (Madison, Neb.) also reached double figures for the Bulldogs with 15 points.

The Bulldogs take on Friends University at 1 pm on January 1.  Friends University is 4-9 on the season.  The two teams haven’t met but have played several common opponents this year.  Friends University has wins over Doane College (98-58) and Bethel College (82-52) and losses to Hastings College (55-70) and Bethany College (78-80) so far this year.  Concordia has wins over Bethany College (84-73), Bethel College (71-66) and Hastings College (76-56).  The Bulldogs suffered an 82-65 loss to Doane College.
