Bulldogs sign Daniel Grundmeier

Concordia University men’s basketball coach Grant Schmidt has announced the signing of Daniel Grundmeier of Glendale, Arizona.  Grundmeier was a four-year starter at Phoenix Christian High School. 

Grundmeier, a 6’0” guard, enjoyed an impressive career at Phoenix Christian.  As a sophomore, he averaged 8.2 points per game.  He averaged 16.3 points, 2.9 assists and 2.0 steals during his junior year.  This past season, Daniel posted averages of 21.7 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.  He was a three-time 2A Metro first team All-Region selection and a two-time 1A-3A State honorable mention selection.  Grundmeier was Team Captain during his senior season and was voted Team MVP during his junior and senior seasons. 

Daniel also had success in track and field during his high school career.  He was a two-year letter winner for the Cougars.  As a junior, he was fourth in the state in the 300 hurdles and was a member of the first place 4x400 relay team.  This year, Daniel finished third at state in the 300 hurdles and was a member of the first place 4x400 and 4x100 relay teams. 

Concordia was 16-13 overall and 10-8 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference during the 2010-11 season.
