Bulldogs sign Beau Smith and Zach Chrzan

Concordia University head men’s basketball coach Grant Schmidt has announced the signing of Beau Smith and Zach Chrzan. 

Smith, a native of McKinney, Texas, spent the past two years at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California.  He averaged nine points per game in his junior college career.  Smith was a 3-year starter and a 2-year team captain at McKinney High School in Texas.  He averaged 16 and 13 points per game during his junior and senior seasons.  Smith was a first team All-District selection as a junior and a second team All-District selection as a senior.  Beau is the son of Anthony and Kim Smith.  He will major in Business Communications with a minor in Marketing. 

Chrzan joins the Bulldogs following his high school career at Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  During his junior year, Chrzan was second on the team in rebounding and third on the team in scoring.  Zach averaged 13 points and seven rebounds per game during his senior year and led his team in rebounding.  Chrzan is the all-time leader in field goal percentage at Concordia Lutheran High School and was a first team All-Conference selection as a senior for the Cadets.  Zach is the son of Barry and Linda Chrzan.  He will major in Business at Concordia University. 

Concordia finished with a 16-13 overall record during the 2010-11 season.  The Bulldogs were 10-8 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
