Bulldogs remain winless after 14-4 and 9-2 losses at NW Oklahoma State
Northwest Oklahoma State picked up two more baseball wins over Concordia on Sunday. The Rangers took game one by the score of 14-4 in six innings and game two by the score of 9-2. NWOSU improved to 8-2 on the year with the wins, while Concordia remained winless at 0-4.
In game one, the Rangers erupted for eight runs on six hits and three Bulldog errors in the opening inning. The Rangers added a single run in the third, four more runs in the fourth and a single run in the sixth as they cruised to the victory.
J.C. Aguayo went 4-for-5 at the plate with four driven in to lead the way for NWOSU. George Flores went 3-for-3 with three driven in on the day, while Mario Carrasco earned the win on the mound for the Rangers.
Zak Goodrich (Lutz, Fla.) and Anthony Flores (Craig, Colo.) each had two hits for Concordia in the loss. Flores, Ty Shaw (Montrose, Colo.) and Brandon Pflug (Ft. Morgan, Colo.) all drove in runs for the Bulldogs. Jacob Yurich (Aurora, Colo.) suffered the loss on the mound after allowing 10 runs on 11 hits in just three innings of work.
The host Rangers again got off to a solid start in game two. NWOSU plated four runs in the second inning on three hits and one Concordia error. The Rangers added a single run in the third, three runs in the fourth and another single run in the fifth, while Concordia managed just six hits in the loss.
Aguayo went 2-for-4 with three RBI’s, and Kkyle Weber was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Rangers. Ben Dorman allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts in five innings of work to pick up the win.
T.J. Conway (Crete, Neb.) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Concordia offense in game two. Jordan Stirtz (Gretna, Neb.) allowed nine runs (six earned) on 10 hits with two walks and two strikeouts in five innings of work for the Bulldogs.
Concordia travels to Bethany College on February 26 and 27.
