SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University baseball season will come up quickly after New Year’s. The Bulldogs are officially slated to open up the campaign on Saturday, Feb. 8 as part of a 50-game 2020 regular-season slate. The complete schedule, both varsity and junior varsity, is available as of Wednesday (Nov. 13). Head coach Ryan Dupic enters his sixth season leading the Bulldogs.

Coming off a GPAC regular-season championship and NAIA National Championships Opening Round appearance, Concordia generated points in the 2020 NAIA Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll and is listed among “others receiving votes.” The Bulldogs are also rated No. 1 in the official GPAC poll.

If weather allows, Concordia will barnstorm through Kansas and Missouri in the month of February as part of a 22-game nonconference slate. The season opens with a four-game series (Feb. 8-9) at McPherson College, a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. On the weekend of Feb. 22-23, the Bulldogs are scheduled to be in Joplin, Mo., for four games against opponents to be determined.

The complete spring break schedule is also yet to be finalized, but Concordia will play eight games (two games each day) from March 7-10 at the Tucson Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. Upon their return to the north, the Bulldogs are set to begin GPAC play on March 14 with a doubleheader at Briar Cliff. Concordia is slated to make its first home appearance on March 15 when Hastings will be in town for a twin bill.

The GPAC regular-season schedule is again complete with 14 doubleheaders. In a rematch of the 2019 GPAC tournament championship game, the Bulldogs will be at Jamestown for a doubleheader on April 5. Dates for 2020 GPAC tournament pod play are April 30-May 2 (top two seeds host a four-team pod). The GPAC championship game is pegged for May 5 while dates for NAIA national postseason play are May 11-14 for the opening round and May 22-29 for the World Series.
